Exclamation Overheating problem

Ok, so i have a 1999 Dodge neon r/t 2.0 dohc

I just had a new engine put in with only 27k miles on it, in November. But now its over heating.

I have replaced the thermostat, radiator, and had pressure check, no leaks, and had a head gasket test ran, no leak.

What could the problem be? The only thing my mechanic can think of is water pump. But its not grinding or anything.

But when the car does start getting hot, Which it only gets hot driving on HIGH WAY. through town it wont over heat. But if comes out of the overflow no where else..

I'm so lost on what to do next.

Thanks

check your radiator cap and check and make sure the fan comes on.

all you got left is the water pump and heater core...best bet is the water pump. I did have that problem before...the tests turned up that the head gasket was ok...but in actuality, it was a pinhole leak from cylinder 2 to a coolant passage...the compression of the engine was making it dump all the antifreeze, then overheat in 45 min-1 hr. excess pressure in the coolant system. Go ahead and check the water pump first.

Default Overheats

I also suspect the water pump. If she has AC, take her on the road, turn on
AC and see if she overheats, if NO, then the fans are helping the water pump out and I vote for a new pump.
