Exclamation valve cover gasket

do you put rtv silicone on the valve cover gasket before putting it on?

i didnt use it as i was told by some friends that it sits inside the valvecover about a 1/4 a inch and that it will offset the gasket and it would blow out in a week so thanks anywayz

you shouldn't need to sometimes a tiny bit in the corners just to hold it in place as your installing it is fine but you don't need to put it around the whole thing...

I use it to hold it in place...thin film of it across the whole gasket does best...makes it very sticky

lol....i couldnt remember with my last neon if i put rtv i prolly did but it seems like my last neon and this neon have different valve covers but they were both plymouth sohc the other one i had before was a 95 idk if that matters but it seemed like that valve cover was different and it had a bracket for the coil pack but the 95 was also a highline if that matters?this is a 96 and the coil pack bolts right up to the valve cover unlike the other neon but i couldnt remember i just got so much stuff going on at once lol..

the valve covers are different between the 95 sohc and the 96 sohc

why are they different?I thought 95-99 neon engines were all the same with different computers?
