Default SOHC pcm

I just changed the SOHC pcm on my neon today to a DOHC pcm and found out that there was oil of some kind in where the one plug was. any idea what that may have been from?

That's to keep moisture out and promote a better, corrosion free connection...forget what it's called. They sell it at any parts place.

Why are you using the DOHC PCM? That will cause your car to run rich!

Not really an upgrade though. But I guess any bit counts in racing.

500 extra rpm is worth a ton on a race track... and shouldn't the O2 sensor and that even the richness out? you keep saying it will run rich but it shouldn't run that much richer i mean its the same size motor same amount of valves... just have one less cam... it can't be all that bad... is it?

It won't be bad, but it will run a little richer as the timing is slightly advanced in the DOHC PCM. That is why it is recommended to use premium gas. Not good if you are trying to maximize your MPG, but in your case that doesn't matter.
