Default Brake problem HELP!!

ok so I have a 99 R/T with 4 wheel disk brakes. My front passenger brake pads have been rubbing on the rotor quite a bit and it slows me down while driving. It is worse in hot weather and after it heats up from driving for a bit. Sometimes it will even get to the smoking point. I just replaced the pads, caliper, and rotor in an effort to fix this problem. After driving for 2 days on the new brakes the same problem is happening. What the hell is the problem?!?

When you changed the brakes did the caliper with the pad on it slide easily over the rotor? Or did you pound it on? If it went on easy, it sound like a bad rubber brake line. The ruber lines can collapse and not allow the fluid to drain back. If the calipers were hard to get back on, and to push the piston back in. I would say the calipers are stuck and need replaced,

Also did the sliders on the caliper move freely? Or were those locked solid?

I replaced the caliper already so I know that's not the problem. Also, I check the brake line while relplacing the caliper and it seemed like it was in ok shape...

Take it apart again, wire wheel the sliders, and grease them this time... I'm guessing the high heat warped your rotor. Return the rotors and pads on warrenty. Everything should slide nicely. Should solve your problem.

What is causing your problem is the pads or sliders are hanging up due to lack of lubrication, and/or build up of rust.

they are the movable piece of the mount...w/ the rubber around them. they should come all the way out. also called caliper pin. the bolts that hold the caliper onto the mount screw into these pins. They should slide in and out like butter on a hot frying pan.

caliper guide pins AKA sliders probably haven't been lubricated, they are the part the the two bolts go onto to attach the caliper. Simply pull them out of the rubber and lub. Another thing that could help would be bleeding the brakes, specifically the one that isn't moving .

in that case, the sliders were well lubricated and I did bleed the brakes after installing the new caliper... I guess I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the help

Did you lube the part of the caliper bracket where the pads slide also?
