How does the car act if the map sensor is bad? I have a 97 neon 5 speed.

 

It will barely run if the map sensor is broken or missing. The map sensor is very critical in Air/Fuel mixture. I'd say if you think its damaged try unplugging it and see if there is no change in the running of the engine, ofcourse it may still work somewhat but not 100% but nothing else really seems to make the car run as ****ty as when the MAP sensor is bad. You should also get a CEL for it.

 

when my map sensors would be going bad in the past, you could be driving down the road just fine and then the car would start stalling and jerking all over the place....then would run fine for a while....then back to the jerking
