"Sport" is Dodge's way of saying "base model with pretty stuff". For the Neon, it usualy meant a "power bulge hood" (whether or not it had the DOHC engine to go with it, which it usually didn't), rear surfboard spoiler, fog lights, tachometer, different interior, and larger wheels (typically 14" steelies with hubcaps).
There were option packages available for the Sport that weren't available for the Highline, so some got rear discs (with 5-lugs all around) and alloy wheels. The Sports didn't get any better suspension components over the Highline (same spring rates, same struts), not even a bigger front sway or a rear sway.
All 1st gen 2-door ACR's had a DOHC, all 4-door ACR's had the SOHC. Altering the engine-to-door configuration was not an option. Ever.
