Default Question about ATX tranny's

Are they all the same for the 1st Gen series? By that I'm asking if they are interchangeable. My tranny went out in a cloud of smoke so I'm going to prowl the j/y for another one. I did a quick glance at the FAQ but didn't see the info there. I'll look closer later when I have more time but need the information in a timely fashion. Thanks

DOHC, ATX

Yes they are all the same.

Have you thought about a mtx swap? If any of the jy cars have all the parts(shifter, cables, tranny, pcm, passanger axles, etc..) it wouldn't take much longer swapping all that in and would be more fun to drive, A LOT faster, and better on mileage...

yeah with having a DOHC atx neon you got the slowest neon ever made... manual swap would be the biggest performance mod you could do...

+1 to that, not only will the swap make it faster, but a DOHC engine is quicker.

As much as I would love to take on that project, this is my sons car. As we were pulling up to a four way stop just now, a modded integra was on one side and a brand new something or other was on the other. He didn't notice the integra and I didn't notice the other.

He doesn't care about performance mods. Kid's these days.

It turned out to be the axle. Bought a new one and stuck it in there and all is well in the world. I get an intermittent ABS light though.
