Here we go again.

In short, yes there is a differece. The 2.0L dohc cams provide better performance than the 2.4L cams. There is more of a difference in between the exhaust casm than the intake cams. Is you choose to use 2.0L cams in a 2.4L engine, you will have to rotate the magnet on the intake cam 180*. That is all.

how do i tell the difference? I replaced the head on my 1999 Neon DOHC 2.0L but couldn't get it to start. Had a shop look @ it. they had the same problem i had, but couldn't figure out what the problem was. They finally said that the camshaft in it was for a 2.4L not 2.0L. But i'm almost certain that i compared the 2 camshafts before reassembling engine. what are the differences>

Difference between a 2.0L and 2.4L mainly are that the crank TDC on a 2.4L is 180* off from that of a 2.0L. So the magnet on the intake cam (just behind the cam sensor) needs to be rotated 180* to synch the timing sequence between the Intake camshaft and the crank trigger.

That can't work cause the dowel holes in the cam are drilled off center so it only fits one way.
