A long time ago started adding bolt on parts (everything) and everything was cool. I was out running almost anything. Then, I was lucky enough to get a rebuild kit with new bearings, rods, 10.5:1 pistons, crane #14 cam,long tube header, wires, plugs (everything) had my head work done bla bla bla...

WELL, it took my machanic 9 months to get the motor together... Then ANOTHER machanic WEEKS to put it in.
NOTE: Had to get washer made for cam gear to fit cam after pin broke while first start up was tried.

Anyway, I just got it back today and it runs like crap! Maybe old gas? wasn't much in the tank and I added more, I don't think its the gas. What it does is when I get past 1% throttle is it cuts out, jumps and jerks. To add to it, it sounds like I'm getting lifter ticking sounds too. Runs smooth sometimes. Maybe like 25 feet ? My Neon is a money pit!
GOD! I could have gotten something with a Hemi or a SRT-4 Caliber for what I have put into this car over the last 3-4 years. Work, work, work work work! CONSTANT WORK!

I think its the wireing harness DAMNIT!

so what did you do to the cam after the dowl pin broke?

 

kinda sounds like the cam sensor is messed up to me.
