tranny help ASAP
DO not use Mopar ATF+4 ever. I know this is what the factory did in many manual transmissions, but it is not good for the mtx at all. From what I have read, the synchros and internals for the mtx requires a type of lubricant containing sulfur and other chemicals. These are not found in the Mopar ATF+4. Thisfluid was added as a cheap band aid to a problem they had not figured out in manuafacturing plant. I'd really recommend any 75w 90 gear oil, and keep any ATF fluid out of your gear box. I can find the actual info from the guy that works at NVT if you want to read it.
In all honesty, you should have changed the TO bearing to begin with...a cheap $35 insurance policy
ok so neons **** me off.... i got in it today and started it up for the hell of it and i slammed it into gear and now it drives perfectly find smooth as hell no grinding or anything maybe th bearing was just stuck or what not but it works fine again also i got valoline durablend 80w since they didnt have any synchro mesh
go check the shift linkage mount on the tranny. not the bushings...I've had a problem where that mount broke, It would drive fine, then suddenly couldn't get it into gear, then it popped back in again...wasn't till later that I found the problem...used wire ties to hold it together for a year or so...lol
