Well I don't have the Tag plate on the trans to tell which it is(tranny was bought from someone) so can someone with a 3.94 drive at XX MPH in 5th gear(prolly like 65-70) and give me a RPM so I can see where mine stands.

my dohc sport turns 2700 at 65mph... and a second note i would really like to know somebody with a sohc 5spd what rpm they are turning at 65 so i can get an idea of what the differance is between the 3.55 and the 3.94 trannys

Well mine does 2700(approximately) RPM at 70 mph,SOHC, so assuming das is right, its a 3.55. Is yours also a 3.55?

OK, I drove my ACR for the first time in about 2 months. Driving down the freeway I was right at 64 MPH and 3000 RPM. SOHC ACR with a 3.94 tranny.

ACRs have a 3.94 tranny but they also have a different 5th gear ratio for an even lower final drive... i think its something like a .75 or .72 or something compared to a .85 or something close to that

The acr mtx is the same as the r/t. A 3.94 mtx with .81FD. All other dohc 5sp models, including the n/a 5sp pt cruiser have 3.94 with .72FD.

All 2.0L , 2.2L, 2.4L, and 2.5L dodges have the same bell housing bolt pattern. Check the ID tag at the end of the case to be sure you are getting the correct gear set.
