Default Overheating new rad?

-97 neon sport Automatic 2 door DOHC
-brand new radiator recently rear ended somebody, got it fixed new rad new lines going across the front of the motor

- was sitting in my car listening to my stereo then i saw smoke from the hood, i looked and the plastic tunnel leading into my overflow was melted. i popped off the thermostat and replaced it with another, that seemed to work for a little while but then overheated again so i took the core out of it (my dad does this racing keeps car cooler but leaves ring and gasket to seal) to see if my water pump was blow out but it flows, now when i watch it flows then slowly rises and goes into my overflow tank super hot and starts melting it.. now i have a brand new radiator, could it be clogged from engine guck? left side of the rad is hot right side is cool.. i was told that aluminum radiators were almost 90% chance that a flush won't work? what do i do? am i forgetting something?

deff sounds like a plugged radiator... so i would start with trying to flush it out.. if nothing else drain the coolant and just try running regular water through it...

also check your oil make sure you didnt pop a hg while this was going on.. 1 thing i have noticed is that theis cars are very prone to hg failure when over heated even if it is taken care of right then and their. also pull plugs and check to see if they are wet.
