Default Engine Swap

I have ran across a very good deal on a '04 neon engine was just wondering if anyone knew if it will work right in a 95 neon or what i would need to change to make it work properly.

well if your 95 neon is a sohc then the engine should swap pretty easy your just going to have to swap to all the 95 sensors cause the 95 wiring harness and ecu won't work with the 04 sensors some of the sensors may be the same but i doubt it seen as even swaping a 96 engine into a 95 requires swaping a few sensors

The 2004 model is very different from a 1G neon; not to mention a 95 1G. The pcm for example is not like what you have now. This is not like swapping in a 98 to a 95. You will have to realistically change 98% of the sensors + wiring, and that is not a guarantee it will work. The crank trigger is not the same, so your pcm will read it like a foreign language. Keep things simple and stay closer to your model. There are enough complications that can surface during an engine swap. HTH.

i was going to say i was doing more reading... and the 2004s are even a lot different compared to the 03s with the pcm being way different... yeah deffinately take the time and try to find something a lot closer to your model year it will make the swap much easier and probably a lot cheaper...

Thanks for all the input. I believe I'll try to find something closer to my model.
