hello all

i am going to change the tranny fluid in my girls 98 neon. i have no idea where to pour the new tranny fluid into though. do i need to take something off, and pour in there? or is there a spot that i am just not seeing?? thanks ahead. i searched also, but didn't find anything that helped.

 

You need to take the pan off the bottom. The easiest way to drain it is to either just pull the pan, or pump out the fluid from the dip stick tube. Make sure you change the filter. Fill it back up through the dipstick tube.

 

its a bitch to do a tranny filter... its not hard its just messy. if you have access to a lift use it. also they sell a special oil pan for tranny changes..... buy it. most lifts should have a special oil catcher that goes up under the car when you put it on a lift thats what u will use with the tranny pan. also drop one side to let it drain don't just take all the bolts off at once...... will cause a big mess. and it might burn if the fluid is hot....(i know from experience lol)
