Default Fuel gauge prob.

Hey, I have a 98 dodge neon sport. I will fill my tank and and drive for just a bit. after a bit it always ends up that i have about a quarter more than it says. my speedo. is also off by about 5 miles less than i drive. And I'm pretty sure that my temp gauge reads less than it is. It's always a little below half. I'm thinking it has to do with a voltage limiter or something. Any help would be great. Thanks.

There is no Voltage limiter these gauges run on fused 12 volt battery voltage. A temp. gauge reading between 1/3 to ½ up from the bottom is normal, the speedo being out is probably due to tire size or worn tires. The Gas gauge only has 2 parts the gauge and the tank sender unit. From your description I would suggest if may be a faulty sender unit.

yeah, I thought it may be that. There also seems to be a hesitation in fuel too. I'll give it gas but it'll take a sec to respond.
