Default 95 cam in a 97

So i have read all around the internet that if you put a 95 cam in a newer year like a 97 that it will add horse power and torque. approximatly 6hp. Now before i go to a junk yard and get a 95 cam an put it in i want to know if anybody here has done this and if so do you feel the difference??? And i am talking about a SOHC auto. Or would it just be best to go ahead and buy a performance cam from ZEX?? Thanks...

Yes, it will add about 4hp. the 95 cam is a more aggressive cam. Do you feel the power? You might feel a little different power-band and a little more HP. Back in your seat HP though? no. but little yes.

the 95 cam has been told me be a lot like the Crane 10.

Whatever cam you go with, don't go too extreme unless you plan on changing out the valves and springs.

95 being like a crane #10? Someone has some misinformation, or a poorly built sohc.

95 cam < magnum 02-04 < magnum 01 < crane #10
