Default Miss My baby =(

Its been 3 days since my car broke and im so depressed... i hope to get it back tonight with my big bill... so the story goes kinda like this..... my dads car breaks so he takes my moms car (no problem there except for this next part) so my mom takes my car [:'(]....... now i knew this was going to be a problem but there was nothing i could do.... that night i get a ride to work from a friend and like 2 hours at work i get a call that my car is broken down and is leaking ****........now im really mad but there is nothing i can do cuz im at work.. so my dad goes to get my mom and he has the car towed to a freinds garage.. they look it over and find the water pump cracked... so i think ok not a big problem.....then i gotta get a new timing belt (not a bad idea this way that doesn't go later down the road)..... so as they are taking it apart they find the harmonic balancer is stuck on so they have to air chisel it off and had to order a new one..... this caused them to have to keep it an extra day and a bigger bill... so im about to call now and see if its done and i hopefully can get it tonight... i also might need motor mounts but thats a whole other story lol.... but after 3 days without my car im starting to get depressed....

Ooooh.... don't let mom borrow the car ever again.

I hope you get it back tonight, being without my truck makes me VERY unhappy... and everyone around me the same. LMAO!!

Damn Homie. Something similar happened with my mom and sister and my old T-Bird. They blew the head gasket.

Yeh i laid down those guidelines when i got home lol
also this is one reason why my next car is going to be a manual cuz no one else knows how to drive one.

It's not like your mom did it. It was going to happen no matter who was driving it

that may be true but i gave her that car and it was running fine.... and since it broke on her watch its easy to put the blame on her... she doesn't know much about cars... so her feeling guilty gets my car fixed [sm=grinangel.gif]

sounds like the garage workin on it just sucks. the harmonic balancer shouldnt be "stuck".. they just sometimes take the proper puller to remove properly.. that and a little heat works wonders.

but i hear ya on havin the car down. it sucks.
and definately a good idea to replace the timing belt while in there. gotta pull it off to replace the water pump anyways.. so why not replace it? hehe.
at the same time, id usually recommend replacing the tensioner, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley (if dohc, sohc doesnt have it.. and i see you are sohc) as well. gets a little expensive, but just good to know that you shouldnt have to worry about replacing them for another 80-100k or so.

lol im sure itll be ok if she uses it again. as said above, the water pump failure was not because she drove it. unless shes just cursed of course
