When I go into first if I slowly at a steady rate keep pushing the gas peddal down the car will accelerate and then at a certain point stop untill its almost to the floor then it opens up and the car has semi normal power. It also seems to lack some all over. But top end for sure. It does this in all gears also

 

i was having the same problem with my car and i had it checked out and it ened up being some springs in the clutch

 

I agree. The clutch is toast.
