Exclamation **Power Window Question**

I have a 1998 Dodge Neon Highline SOHC MTX. I have power windows up front and crank in the back. My power window motor on the drivers side s**t the bed and caused the cable to bind and slightly bend one of the tracks. I have the window secured with a piece of 2x4 for the time being. My question is, if anybody knows, can i use the motor and window regulator/tracks&cable from the right side and flip or flop it to use on the left side. Reason being, if this can be done it would save me a lot of money. New one's for the left side run well over $120 for the motor and everything, however new one's for the right are only $30-$70. Is this just another auto part scam??(selling same things for outrageous prices) It appears to me that it could be done but i want to make sure before i go ahead and buy the wrong side. Also, i purchased a Venom 400 performance control module from a buddy that bought it for his 2000 neon which is long gone now. He paid around $300 and gave it to me for $30. I'm just wondering if it will work with my '98. His was also the SOHC, but automatic. I do know that the Venom IS year specific but not tranny specific. Will this work? Any help is greatly appreciated..

The window motors are side specific and have different part numbers.

Throw the Venom module away...it's crap!

There are several junk yards around me that have 1st gen Neon's with Power window motors and tracks. That may be a good option for you too - and certainly cheaper. Especially if you can pull your own parts.

ok thanks for the advice. The Venom module really wont make a difference? And yea there's a yard about an hour away from me with plenty of neon's. Last time i was there i didnt see many with the power options. Im also wondering if i should even try to go used. From what i understand, these aren't the best designed power windows and screw up all the time. I would hate to go threw everything to take it out and get it in perfect to have it screw up 1,000 miles down the road. I smoke so i use it quite often.

Not at all. At least you didn't pay $300 for it like your friend.

The power windows on my 99 (sold now) still roll up and down just fine and have yet to have problems.
