put in a new rear main oil seal yesterday..whole days work for an 8 dollar part.. best part of all is i learned on here how to adjust the foward band on trans... its like a new car now..didnt know first gear was still there.. i bought the car for 150 bucks and put water pump in.. drove like *** compared to my last one.. not anymore. got some snort now.

 

how did u adjust the band on the trans?because my first gear doesnt have anything like my 95

 

the adjustment is an 8mm bolt with 18mm jam nut just behind the dipstick...
1. loosen jam nut
2. tighten 8mm bolt
3. make a mark on the bolt
4. back it off 2 1/2 turns
5. hold bolt and tighten jam nut

mine never downshifted into 1st at an intersection. i was always taking off in second gear if i never came to a dead stop. and never downshifted from 3rd to 2nd... shifts good now
