Angry Overheating - thermostat?

I have a 95 neon. problems started today on my way to work. The car overheated. I had to pull over let the car cool down. I hear a bubbling sound when I turn the car off. There is no smoke coming out of the tail pipe, there is no visible leaks, there is no antifreeze in the oil? I am going to have to do the work myself and Im hoping its a simple solution. The resevoir is full so I know its not leaking.

is the radiator full? if not top it off and if it is full I would say thermostat is the culprit. two 10 MM bolts and some coolant will do the trick. it is a very simple fix. do not over-tighten the bolts tighten them snug and a little bit more and you will be fine.
