I am having a similar problem but my gas, temp, speedometer, and odometer sometimes works and the trip odometer never works. I read an old post about soldering the back side of the cluster. Will this fix all the gage problems except the trip odometer? I assume it’s stuck.

It just might and it won't cost you much to try it (if you already have a soldering iron, it won't cost you anything but time). No, it won't fix the trip odo. as that item is completely mechanical.
