1998 plymouth neon cranks but doesnt start
lol yeah but sometimes its the last thing ya think of when it comes to problem solving. wifes Lebaron had no spark and i thought mabey it was the coil or some other electrical issue. took the cap off the rotor and craked it over and viola no spin. so started tearing down the engine to get to the **** poor inspection window on the cam cover and still could'nt tell. took the rest apart and the timing belt was turned into some magic strings with melted rubber all over them.
i'm looking at the wiring harness that feeds most of the sensors and fuel injectors as I have ruled out the fuel pump. OBD II codes EGR failed, CAT failed, O2S failed, H2.. failed
Had similar issue with a 99. No codes. Make a long story aggrivating, Did the check thing on the crank sensor but checked the wrong wire. replaced it and the coil pack. No Joy. Rechecked the crank sensor the right way it was ok. Fuel pressure OK. as a last resort sprayed starting fluid int the TB. It coughed and spit but started. Been running good untill recently as it has been throughing mis fire codes. Mostly at highway speeds. Misc, 1,2,3,4. plugs and wires are new. I'm wondering is the hole caused by the probing of the crank sensor wire may be the cause??????
i really need some help with this one. ive replaced the fuel pump, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, and im gettin ready to replace the ignition switch if it could possibly be whats wrong with it. ok here is the story. i bought the car off of a friend and he said he was driving down the road and it jus died and wouldnt start back up. and like i said ive replaced everythin that the codes were showing and now there is no more codes to go by so im stuck. when i turn the key on all the lights work and everything but when im cranking it im getting no spark to the coil pack at all. i put the light tester thing on the plug that goes into the coil pack and im not getting ny power to it either. so would that be the ignition switch? i checked the timing belt and its good and it was replaced not long before the car broke down so i know thats not it. im extremely puzzled with this ny help would be great thanks
I had my car stall and not start was about to tear the engine apart. Replaced fouled plugs (6) and car still would'nt start. Lightning struck me and I check the fuse pack under the hood and the inj/coil fuse had blown replaced and started right up. Blew again after driving for awhile so I think i'll replace the coil on plug parts. Have to assume they're all bad due to the fouling of all plugs and the smoke that comes from exhaust when first started. No Head probs or gaskets issues. Believe just left over gas in chambers. Hope there is info here you may find useful.
