Default New to neons need some opinions/help

So I got a 97 ram and am going to be starting college on the fall. Driving 60 miles a day with this isnt gonna work so i found a guy willing to trade a neon and some cash for my truck and just wondering what you guys think

99 neon rt, 113K, peformance cams, aem cold air intake, midlenght stainles header, mopar flashed ecu that bumped the air fuel ratio for the cams. he says it redlines around 7600 rpms with the cams, 3 month old clutch, 3.55 gears, timing belt tensioners and water pump changed 6 months ago, front and rear strut tower braces, eibach pro lowering springs, front and rear race only motor mounts, full stereo with 2 10" subs. He also said that the ball joint tie rod ends and cv shafts are original and probably need replacing.

I dont know a damn thing about any performance stuff on cars Ive owned 3 trucks so if anything sounds fishy or any info at all would be appreciated. thanks

Yeah thats what i was thinking to. He hasnt gotten back to me about how much hed be willing to put in and I asked him to send some more pictures and he didnt respond so im guessing that this deal is basically not gonna happen. If i was gonna do it tho id be looking for 2500-3k I think that would b a fair price

The neon you described may be worth about $2000-$2500, so whatever your truck is worth, split the difference.

It's a warm air intake, not a cold one.

Flashed by whom? The dealer will not "performance" flash a stock PCM. You can purchase a Mopar Performance PCM, which is what he "may" have. Get the part # and compare it one of the sticky threads above in the FAQ's.

All nice selling points, especially the timing belt, water pump and idler pulley (should be changed every 100,000 miles). The 3.55 tranny is not the tranny that came with the R/T, so it isn't as good as the performance 3.94 that came with it, but you will get better gas mileage as opposed to quicker acceleration.

Not a hard or expensive job, but I would use that as a bargaining tool.

I would pay about $2000 for the R/T after a thorough visual inspection.

Hope this helps you out.
