Default dirt track help

i need some help!!!i run a 98 neon sohc,header,55mm tb,mopar computer,msd coil,accel wires.i run on a 3/8 n 1/2 mile dirt track.im wanting to build a motor but not sure what be best for application.constantly gettn spanked by ford probes.gotta keep it sohc and "stock' apperaring.pistons size?valve size?spring rate?cam?any help b appriciated.thanks larry

well, if u can build a engine with no so much restriccion, try to buy some kb pistons, or shave the head to get more c/r, a cam with some springs, and fuel injectors! with that the probe and other cars gonna kiss ur butt!

any certain pistons or cam i should consider?im sorry i dont know alot about this motor.how much should i shave off head?i bn told by another,albeit a novice,that i should use dohc pistons?

is this car an auto or a manual? my advice would be to swap out the pistons for higer compression pistons plane the heads as otto said and get some crane cams and springs. you can also get a 95 cam, which has a bit more aggresive lift. and you can block off the EGR which won't gain you any HP but will keep the TB cleaner.

thanx guys.its a manual tranny.really appriciate the help.im the only mopar at three tracks so kinda tired of listening to all the crap

www.modernperformance.com they will have the supplies you need. or you can shop around and find what you need at possably a better price. also you may be able to use a solid motor mount on the front, and a solid bobble strut on the rear. that way you can get the power to the tires right away.

what size of track you run on here neon is the cars to beat.
