got in my 95 sohc and the check engine light came on. it says 25. i put a cheap cai in it like 6 weeks ago, so i changed the clamps on it cuz they were stripped and wouldnt tighten. well light still on. any ideas car still runs good but dont want to mess things up.

 

code 25** is "Idle Air Control (IAC) valve circuits. A shorted condition is detected in one or more of the IAC valve circuits. Or a Vacum leak is detected.

** These codes illuminate the CHECK ENGINE light on the instrument panel during engine operation once the trouble code has been recorded.


Try to reset the computer to erase the code and see if your problem was fixed with the new clamps, if that dosent fix it then look for another vacume leak.

 

yeah def check for a vacuum leak first. if you dont find one, looks like ya may be replacing the IAC.

 

where else can a leak be????
