I am swapping out auto transmissions , I purchased a 1995 from the wreckers to install in a 1997 Neon. The kickdown shaft on the 1995 is not spring loaded inside the trans unlike the 1997, is this normal? Was the spring loading return added after 1995? I need this info before I actually install the transmission.

Just to clarify when I turn the kickdown shaft on the 1995 by hand it does not return to its original position unlike the 1997.

Also the shaft in the 1995 can be moved vertically aprox 1/4 of an inch.
