I have a high pitched whine that comes in and out at varying RPM near the crankshaft. I removed all the belts to isolate all the accessories and it is still doing it with all belts removed. Could it be the water pump bearing? It sounds like a bearing squealing. There is no leaking radiator fluid. Any ideas would be great..

 

If you even think it is the water pump I would stop driving the car and replace the waterpump and the timeing belt and idler pully. before your replacing your head too.
