performance computer
i was wondering how much a mopar ecu performance computer would help out my 98. i have an intake and exhaust done already. Im just curiuos before i buy it. and how hard is it to put in.
It was one of the first things I put into my car. How it works is that it works with the parts you're putting on the car. The more you put into the car the better the comp is going to work thus making the part you put in work to it's peak performance. I wish I could tell you how good it works. I can't drive the same type of Neon with the same types of things done to it.
DOHC or SOHC (engine, not computer)?
10 HP in some areas of the power band on a stock DOHC. A SOHC with a half-decent muffler should see similar. You may not feel it immediately as the compuer stil has some learning to do. The real test is to wait a month or so and then swap your stocker back in...
Install is a snap. I can (and have) swapped computers while filling up at the gas station. 3 bolts (2 on mine now...), and the connectors (mine ony has one... '95).
Best of luck!

You can usually find one on the neons.org classifieds for $150US or so used. New they run closer to $250US. If coming in from the States, make sure the box is labeled as "personal effects", not "car parts", or you'll be paying extra fees...
Best of luck!
