1996 dodge neon cigarette lighter wont work..

everytime i plug something into it such as my cigarette lighter, or a phone charger it just blows the fuse... any suggestions to what could be wrong? i'm clueless...

You could just have a cigarette lighter socket that has gone bad (shorted) and needs to be replaced. It happens.
