TPS Sensor?
OK. Here's my prob. It started one time when I was washing the engine compartment, which I had done many times before. When rinsing the engine bay, the engine started to overrev. It was idling at aroung 2000 rpm. I then moved the car and turned it off to dry it. When I started it again it ran fine. The next morning same symptoms. Then engine was overreving again. This time it stayed that way. About a few days later I got the error codes. The code 24 came out twice which is TPS sensor voltage too high/low. I replace it and it ran fine for 2 month. Then it started again. This time without getting the engine bay wet. I am still having the problem and any suggestions would be appreciated.
First, have you reset the computer to clear the code? It should clear on its own after 3 sequential starts without the same condition, but...
My TPS voltage problems were from the wiring. The wire bundle runs up near the valve cover, which has a pretty sharp edge. It cut through over time and eventually shorted out the wiring sporadically. Cut and spliced, works great now. Figured it out on my 4th sensor...
Best of luck!
