Default looking to buy a neon, but...

hey fellas, i've been looking at a 98 sohc with an automatic, pretty clean in and out for a reasonable price. problem is, on the test drive this afternoon it died after about 10 minutes of driving. we let it cool off for about a half hour and it drove fine back to the owners place. the guy says it's a fuel relay issue and could be remedied for a couple hundo. this sound about right to you guys or is he blowing smoke?

thanks

it depends on who "the guy" is, and where u found him. i got my neon from a friend who i believed could be trusted, either i was wrong or he doesnt know **** about cars. mind u the price he gave me was unbelievable, so i took the offer, but, even doing all the work myself, ive put in around 3 times what i paid for it.... i love my neon, in part because ive learned a lot about cars just by owning it. if your thinking of getting one, get all the info possible and have somebody look at it first. these things know how to break ! good luck to you

a bad ground seems to be the problem. could duplicate the symptoms same as on the test drive by wiggling the wire attached to the body right by the battery. a new terminal end and it seems fine. i let it run in drive with the brake on for 20 mins or so and it didn't die, so i'm crossing my fingers that was all it was. got the new front pads on too, just need to get it plated now...
