Default 96 neon a/c blowing hot

I have a 96 neon and the ac is blowing hot air. I got a charge kit and it was at 15lbs, put it up to 45lbs as per the instruction. Air still blows hot. gauge still shows 45lbs. Any ideas on what to do next? Complete car newbie here.

Thanks,

Brian

turn the heat dial to the cold side? Could be your compressor if that did not fix the issue. Does your fan come on apon turning the ac on? (fan on the radiator)

The heat dial is all the way over onto the cool side. The fan on the radiator does come on when I turn the ac on.
Thanks for the reply.

Okay, could be the compressor then not pumping the 134 around into the ac core. Could just be the clutch bad on it, or the pump itself. They are cheap in junk yards, around 25-30 bucks. Just make sure you suck the 134 out beforehand and reuse it.
