I have a wrecked 2004 with a 5sp and a 99 with a bad auto. Is it possible to put the newer 5spd into the 99? Any troubles I'm going to run into?

 

you can use the tranny, bue you need to find the cable clutch housing, beacuse the 2g neon use hydraulic clutch, but you can use from the 2g, the pedals, the shifter, shifter cables, and the tranny itself, only changing the housing... that is all

 

So I would just need the housing and cable from the 1g? What about converting it to the hydraulic system in the 2g. I have a whole car so it shouldn't be that hard, right?

 

Use the pedals from the 2g and lines, master cylinder, etc from it and put it all on your 1g is what he was saying, I think. Swap bell housings so the trans bolts to the 1g motor and use all the clutch stuff from the 2g as far as lines etc in your 1g
