2001 motor in a 95 body
Hi all, i'm new to the forum here and I have a question for you guys maybe you can help me.
Guy I know has a 95 Neon and he swapped the old motor for a low mileage 2001 SOHC motor and the 2001
transmission.
Says he put on a dual exhaust system, CAI, forged headers, Indy intake manifold (never heard of Indy) and what
im wondering is ...will it be that much more powerful than the stock 95 SOHC motor?
How much HP/TQ difference will there be (estimated) and if anyone has done it, how did it turn out, and is it reliable?
and yes it is an automagic, unfortunately...
but i may just pick it up for a reliable daily driver.

Was the 95 originally a SOHC???
If so no. If it was a DOHC then he actually lost 18 hp. The 95 SOHC came with 132 hp with 129 ft lbs of torque and the 2001 motor came with 132 hp 130 ft lbs of torque lol.
O by the way the Indy manifold sucks lol.
