I hope that you have found your answer (it has been a year) but maybe someone else would like to know.
I have been having this SP ERR on my six speaker CD stereo in my '99. So I kinda took the dash and door apart to see if I had a wiring problem (when it started I could slam or hit the door and it would come back). I asked the dealer if there was a filter and he couldn't find one in parts computer. I found it though, connected to the 3 1/2 tweeter, it is in-line on the black wire between the speaker and the connector. Without taking the tweeter wiring apart I
For my problem, I swapped the speakers side to side didn't shift the problem over. I also found that the blue/red and purple wires that split off to the RF- RF+ only go as far as the door frame connector, where the the wires change to red/brown and green inside the right door (same colours for the left front speakers). I found this out the hard way as I started cutting and splicing in a new set of wires.
I spent three hours replacing wires for naught. It looks as though I have to replace the radio.

I just replaced all my speakers in my car but I never put the ones back in the door because that would lower the ohm load on the deck and screw it up and possibly blow the internal amp as for the dash speakers I just took out the factory plug cut off the lil cap made the holes bigger for 4 inch speakers and wired the terminals how I pulled them off the stock speakers usally high grade speakers you can tell if its not wired right cuz of the distortion thats how I figured out one of my 6x9's in the trunk was reversed
I just read the above post are you running 6 speakers if so your prolly over drawing the amp to run six speakers correctly you must run the front 2 off front and 2 off the back and the rears off a amp or some new decks have 2 front outputs also you can get the proper ohm speakers and get the correct load or you can do what I did and just leave the door speakers unplugged I don't miss em at all hehe. if your running the stock deck and speakers then this doesn't apply otherwise it might.
