Default Removal of Water Inlet Tube

Hey guys, I searched the forums but was unable to find an answer on how to replace my water inlet tube on my '97 neon sport sohc. I just recently had my water pump freeze up which took out my timing belt and a couple of valves which I have replaced and after I got everything back together I noticed a crack in my water inlet tube where the heater core hose connects to.

My problem is I cannot figure out how to get the water inlet tube off the car. I have removed the hoses and 3 bolts holding it to the engine but it wont budge. The only thing I can see that might be causing me problems is the intake manafold and I really do not want to remove that unless I have no other choice.

Any tips or tricks will be greatly apprecated.

Thanks in advance.

Removing the radiator fans might give you more room. If not, yank the intake manifold and get the job done.
