Default fan problem i hope@$%#

so car wont over heat while moving. only when its sitting. but its slow to get warm. so stop lights theres no problems. waiting on a teller at the bank yes. but it wont over heat untill the car has moved. then it will continue to run hot for a max of 4 min then back to normal. changed thermostat to 180. could it be the fans not kicking on? bc i dont hear them, how do i check the fans?

Check your coolant level, then let the car run at idle for 15 minutes or so. Car should over heat evenutally or the fans should come on by then.

If your A/C works, turn on A/C, see if fan comes on. If it doesnt work then forget it.
Check Fuse, if fuse OK, Then it is probably a bad fan motor or a bad fan relay.
Usually the relay has a lot higher chance of failure. relay should be mounted on the left frame behind the radiator.
