Default 3.0 CAI

I've got a couple questions about the 3.0 CAI. If i run it without any exhaust pipe extensions am I going to have any issues with hydrolocking? Is driving in the rain an issue or no? If it will fit I'd like to get a K&N Filter from the 2nd Gen Neons, P/N E-1006. It has a flange diameter of 2.5 inches. Will this work? Also how do you fasten the filter to the intake tubing, can you use the clamps that are on the intake of do you have to do some custom work. Also does anyone have any dyno graphs for the gains with the 3.0 intake? Thanks alot.

Anyone? Also how close to the radiator can the filter be? I have a single fan setup, so the filter could potentially touch the rad? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not entirely sure what you are asking. It should not hydrolock unless you go through a foot or more of water. It can be as close as you want to the radiator as you want, I wouldn't let it touch just cause it will wear the pipe, filter, or radiator. Any hose clamp big enough to fit will work

Driving in the rain is no problem, just don't hit a puddle while on the throttle. I have the dual-fan radiator and I think it's just lightly touching the side of the fan housing, but no problems. Just what I'm able to help you with.

Also, on cars under 200 HP, the Caravan CAI has been shown to show the same gains as the Iceman.
