DO NOT USE THE LUCAS OIL TRANSMISSION FIX! Read the whole thread, not just the first post. He experienced issues with the Lucas "FIX"!

If your tranny is shifting fine, leave it alone!

This may be a little late for the OP, but the problem is that it's the wrong stuff to put in the trans. The Lucas additive used is for automatics, not manuals. The gear lube is meant for a different type of trans, the Neon manual takes 5W-30 lube. Even good motor oil would be a better choice. If, by chance, this hasn't been resolved, draining a refilling the trans with the correct fluid may well make it shift ok again.

Thanks for the photos, I'm planning on changing mine soon, they are very helpful. If you really want the correct lube for the trans, Amsoil makes a lube that explicitly meets the Mopar spec - it's called Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid 5W-30.

Hey guys, I know this is a bit old, but I was wondering how your tranny turned out, did you fix the leak or swap it? I also added Lucas to mine and had exact same slight rattling noise as described above, plus hard time shifting sometimes, but that disappears as soon as the car warms up (98 SOHC, 5-speed). And thanks for the pictures!
