How hard is a swap?
I currently own a 1998 dodge neon 2 door 5 speed DOHC car, and am looking at buying a 1997 dodge neon 4 door 5 speed car made for a DOHC motor, but the motor has been taken out, i would like to take my motor and put it in the other car because my cars body is junk and the other one is great, the guy who is selling the shell has apparently cut some of the lines in the engine bay (Such as the coolant line) so im not sure if thatll be a problem, or that is an easy fix, i have never done a swap and my knowledge is limited, i want to know on a scale of 1-10, how hard do you think it will be? and whats the best way to learn about how to do it?
A direct swap isn't too bad at all. If you have never done it before, I would carve out a few days to get it done so you don't get in a rush. Your best bet is to pull the motor and tranny together and drop it into the other car. Use all your current sensors, harnesses, PCM and such.
