I have a 1998 dohc neon and i want to install a transmission out of a 1995 sohc neon both are std. The main reason for the swap is the gear rato, i cyrcle track race the car and need my rpms lower in 2nd gear. Are the transmissions interchangeable? Are the clutches interchangeable?
Also i bought i mopar performance ecm p5007033 will this work with my 1998 dohc std trans?

Yes a sohc trans will bolt right up. They offered 2 clutches in the neons. Modular, and non modular. Modular uses the ATX flywheel and bolts, the non modular uses its own flywheel and bolts. Both will work fine with either trans. So if you swap everything from yours you will be good to go. Not sure on the ECU but I do know 98-99 are the same. Someone did a write up with the differences so you can repin it to work with other years.
