1998 2.0 DOHC bent valves
I bought this car a few days ago knowing it had some issues... The guy i got it from said the timing belt broke while driving and he had a new belt put on but it wont start. So i figured it had bent valves... I paid $470 for it... So i got it home and started by checking to see that it was in time and the first thing i found was that it was out of time by 180... I put it in time and gave it a crank just to see and still wouldn't start... No surprise to me. So i pulled the head and sure enough it has a few bent intake valves. No damage to the pistons as far i can can see. So i went to Pick And Pull this morning to see what kinda 2.0L DOHC engines the had that i could pull a head off of and they have none... But they do have a buncha 2.4L DOHC engines...
Ive done some research and from what i have found it seems the heads are interchangeable but ill want to put my 2.0L cams in the 2.4L head.
So my question is...
Is that correct?
What should i look out for?
Besides the fact im working with used parts...
Thanks for any information yall have. I looked around for awhile to see if i could find a post about the head swap but all i was finding was people wanting to sawp SOHC for DOHC.
