Loud bang when backing up

Loud bang when backing up
This is a newly developed issue with the car, within the last couple of months or so.
Whenever I begin to back out of a parking spot (whether quickly or very slowly...but the wheel is always turned almost completely to one direction or another), a loud thump/bang occurs underneath the car...it sounds like it is coming from the front left/center part of the underneath. This also sometimes occurs when I am taking narrow turns during regular driving.
The struts and strut mounts on the car are only about six months old and this sound is much different from what those made before I had them replaced. It is a louder and lower thumping sound that can somewhat be felt in the steering wheel. The car just crossed over 140,000miles. Any ideas? TIA.
