This problem has been on going for about 3 months, but has been much more prevalent recently. Whenever I am coming to a stop and the car gets under about 10mph, it will start accelerating by itself. I can be coasting down a neighborhood street at 5mph, and the RPMs will suddenly jump from 1k to about 1.7k and then back down again, and then do it again after several seconds, accelerating the car. This definitely caused me some serious problems when trying to stop during the snowstorm the other night, as it happened while I was pumping the brakes as well.

Any ideas? Throttle Position Sensor?

 

Sounds like a vacuum leak, maybe a bad AIC or PCV.
