Its because the head is from a newer neon, not a 95-99. It will still work. The EGR is for emissions, first question is will the car need to pass emissions? If the answer is no then you can delete the EGR, it will just leave a CEL light unless you put a resistor in the plug. You will need to block off the hole on the intake manifold also either use a quarter or something, or the actual EGR block off kit from Modern performance or similar. If your using a 2nd gen intake manifold then you wont need to block anything.

It wont make it run like crap, its for emissions. But without the EGR it will not pass emissions unless you know the person doing the test. You could pay a machine shop to drill the holes and tap them maybe if you have the old head as a template. I have never seen anyone add an EGR to the newer style head, so I am not even sure if its possible. Sorry.

It wont bypass it, it will just make it so the CEL isnt on. The exhaust gas temp may not pass emission still .The EGR is Exhaust Gas recirculation. It takes unburned gas from the exhaust and puts it back into the intake. Check this out. I think its a 10w resistor. http://www.neongoodies.com/Goodies/E...EGr_Elim.shtml
