Hey how would i tightin up my e-brake for a 99 dodge neon r/t it is very loose i was parked at a friend house and his drive way is like a down hill and i had my e-brake up about 10 min of being over there his neighbor came over and asked whos car that was in the middle of the street!! i keep it in gear buy my girl friend came out and took it out of gear so she could freak a black on the shifter ***
my ebrake gave out completely on my 1st 95 neon, i just went to a junk yard and ripped one off a neon, swapped it out, and she worked fine, but it sounds like you have a differnt situation...
You may need to tighten the cable on your E-Brake..... Over time they stretch out and lose their effectiveness. I believe there are two places on cars you go to tighten these. One is in the center console and the other is usually on the rear axle near the middle.
exact same thing happend to me in my 95 i took teh middle consel out and u cant adjust it there im pritty sure teh only place u can adjust it at is at the rear wheels themself
I have not looked at mine, but I believe there is a tightener on the cable under the car. If that does not work, you may need new cables as they are stretched too far.
