I have 98 neon dohc, the water pump seized and broke belt, and I am sure it bent the valves due to this is an interference engine... engine only has 88k on it....
Well looking for a quick fix, repair shop said 1k to fix.. car not really worth that.
So back to quick fix..
I found another engine but was not sure if it would work.
95 avenger engine dohc 2.0l .will this fit and bolt right up and how about the wiring harness? will I need to do anything with that? Not sure what issues I get into with the swap... I know the heads will not work due to porting and exhaust it reversed..
Any help would be grateful..
Other wise the car will be junked..

IIRC, the Avenger head is backwards from the neon head. Intake in the back and exhaust in the front. So a no go on the head swap unless you are ready to do some serious customizing.
If you are good with tools, just pull a DOHC head from a junkyard and throw it on along with a fresh HG and timing belt. Car will be good for another 100,000 miles.
