hi neon experts......i am thinking of buying a 1998 Neon with 130,500 miles.....it is fairly in good condition...

i will be test driving the car sometime this week....what are the important things i need to take in consideration or what things do i need to check and observe other than the obvious (oil leaks, suspension, etc...)

any response is appreciated....

Man I'd love to get my hands on one of them, reguardless of the shape it's in. Something that gets better than my gas hog HEMI!

 

^^^ HAHA. Well you can look for the new headgasket by looking for a tab near the exhaust manifold...I looked for the picture on neons.org but can't find it. Just look for the normal stuff, rust, oil leaks stc especailly with that many miles.

 

i had the chance to look at the car and test drive it......it runs perfect but few things concerns me...[X(]

the neon has an oil leak somewhere near the air intake or whatever that part is....
the headlights gone extremely foggy....
there is some clunking in the front driver side suspension....

the person i'm buying the neon from was the second owner... she said that the radiator, and the brakes were changed....

she might sell it to me for $700-$800....is it worth buying the beat up neon....if i buy the car and have it fixed....will it be worth it....
i am no car expert so i need your advice on this....

i will only use the car around town and would rarely use it in the highway.....is it a good idea to get the car?????
