Default 96 Sohc Neon stalling while driving slow and after car has warmed up.

Hey I went and got the Car checked out by a mechanic and he told me that the PCV valve is bad and also the coil pack is bad which is causing the missfire.

The car is a 1996 Dodge Neon SOHC sedan.

I wanted to know if replacing both will prevent the car from stalling.

It seems to be that the stalling issue is getting worse. I started to look for reasons the car is stalling but now if you drive super slow the car's idle drops you can hear the engine slowly putter and sometimes the engine will stall out/ shut off, while driving. The way to keep the car running is to shift it into neutral at every stop it makes like a red light or a stop sign the idling is very low but it still drives, sometimes I have to coast the car after the engine turns off and then I will shift back into park and start the car and press the gas pedal in hard and then slowly ease off the pedal while shifting from park to neutral and it will stay on and idle.

I don't have a tach but I know when the car's idling gets super slow.

I am looking into getting an msd ignition coil pack and I bought the pcv valve already.

If it isn't too freezing cold and if it stops snowing once and for all I should be able to change the pieces out even though I am not sure how to remove the pcv valve. I know the coil pack once I buy it I just need to disconnect the battery, disconnect the ignition wires from the coil pack, and unscrew the 4 screws on each corner of the coil pack and lift up.

But will that prevent the very low idling and stalling of the vehicle or would I have to look and see if the EGR valve is clogged or if the crank position sensor is bad again. Even though I had that replaced back in May of 2013.

I still warm up the car and drive it around in its current state once in a while to keep the battery charged up, but it is nerve-wracking to not know if or when the car will stall out. It usually happens after the engine is warmed up, because when you first start the car it seems to run fine but then as the car warms up it gradually gets slower at idling and sometimes turn off unless in neutral.

ALSO on the topic of coil packs can you use a 2nd Gen or an SRT4 Coil Pack for the 1st generation Neon? Because I was told a 2nd gen 2.0L sohc engine coil pack will fit a 2.4L engine but no one said if it will fit a 1st gen sohc neon 2.0L engine.
